LIBERTY’S RESIDENCY PROGRAM - FOR POTENTIAL RESIDENTS

Are you interested in growing in biblical wisdom, social skills and transferrable career skills? As you are seeking God’s direction for your next step, consider Liberty’s residency program for young adults.

Working with your mentor, we’ll help you discover how God has hardwired you with gifts and abilities and skills to be His unique creation. And, we believe, designed from before creation to do good works here on earth.

WHAT IS IT?

This program connects a mentor and a resident who work closely together. The work will be in ministry within the church or in the marketplace. It will encourage understanding vocational calling as well as develop godly character. These work-environment relationships will train young adults in growing spiritually and gaining career skills and experience.

WHO’S INVOLVED?

  • The mentor

  • The resident (We are looking for those who are high school graduates with at least some college/work experience. If you are a young adult who is: maturing spiritually, moving toward emotional health and seeking understanding of your vocational fit - we’re interested in YOU!)

  • LBC staff

  • The cohort

The cohort experience will be key. You are not doing this residency experience alone but with a group of residents. You will have times for building community, hanging out and serving together. There is a definite fun component to the whole process.

HOW WILL IT RUN?

These are either part-time (church) or full-time (marketplace) residencies.

Participants will meet together regularly with an anticipated kickoff in January. The residency will be one year long with the opportunity to extend for a second year.

The structure will include a monthly large group meeting with other mentors and residents. These sessions will focus, alternately, on transferrable skills (such as time management, work as a team, receiving feedback) and biblical practices (such as understanding an overview of Scripture, telling your spiritual journey, spiritual solitude).

You will meet regularly with your mentor to learn from each other, at least monthly.

We will use assessments to help discover this uniqueness that is God’s thumbprint on you.
